Video: Lightning Bolt performing Dracula Mountain live @ La Maison de La Vilette (28 November 2008)

Lightning Bolt are a noise-rock duo attempting to insult your eardrums up close and personal, by whipping the audience into a frenzy when they play on the floor of a gig rather than up on stage. You can now join Lightning Bolt on the floor at their All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival sideshow this October at the Corner Hotel, Melbourne.

Forming in 1994 in Rhode Island, “the Brian’s” as I like to call them, feature Brian Chippendale on vocals/drums and Brian Gibson on bass. They improvise a hell of a lot, and they kinda remind me of the madness of Bob Log III (without the boob scotch!).

The guys from Lightning Bolt are likely to start performing straight after the first band at the ATP Festival (as they are renowned) – so no heading out for a piss and a drink for you!

About noisynoodle

I am a noisy noodle hailing from Melbourne, Australia who loves listening to noise in all forms, but preferably in music, TV and film. I’ve moonlighted on community radio at SYN-FM many years ago when I was still a “youth”. My mission is to promote live music (get off your bum and see something!), highlight interesting TV shows that are ignored by the ratings, expose some cool films and to not go deaf trying!
