Video: High Tension High Risk High Rewards Video Clip

Melbourne’s High Tension play their own mess of metal, punk, hardcore, noise-rock all rolled into one. To create High Tension add one phenomenal female vocalist Karina Utomo (Young & Restless), add legendary bass player Matt Weston (The Nation Blue), add another ex-Young & Restless member Ash Pegram on guitar, and one pounding drummer Dan McKay also from… The Nation Blue! I’m in post-hardcore heaven!

Their yet to be released new album Death Beat (Cooking Vinyl) was recorded at Studios in the City in Melbourne by another heavy hitting drummer Tom Larkin (Shihad), and will feature 11 tracks.

One of the new tracks is this little dance number, Primitives which I like very much:

The band are shoring up tour dates as we speak (well as I type and as you read), so keep you eyes peeled fellow Aussies!

I know the band are cool (and limber) as they pose for photos like this:

The song High Risk High Rewards is off their S/T 4-track EP and is worth every penny. Go and buy it now before your brain turns to mush.

Death Beat is out on 25 October at all decent record stores. You can pre-order it now at iTunes.

About noisynoodle

I am a noisy noodle hailing from Melbourne, Australia who loves listening to noise in all forms, but preferably in music, TV and film. I’ve moonlighted on community radio at SYN-FM many years ago when I was still a “youth”. My mission is to promote live music (get off your bum and see something!), highlight interesting TV shows that are ignored by the ratings, expose some cool films and to not go deaf trying!
