Video: Weezer El Scorcho Music Clip

2013 gig highlight #4: Weezer playing The Blue Album (aka Weezer) in full. In particular, when lead singer Rivers Cuomo ran through the crowd high-fiving everyone at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne (16 January 2013).

We were advised by the Weezer sound guy not to be alarmed when Rivers Cuomo would run through the crowd after the half-time intermission. He knows kung-fu and can take care of himself! Master Cuomo is what you should probably call him.

The sound guy gave us the best overview of the Weezer year’s during the intermission. It was single-handedly the best slideshow I’ve ever been forced to sit through. Imagine a kaleidoscope of Weezer band photos from when the boys were just immature geeks (wink).

I was long over Weezer before I went to the show. But I scored a free ticket to the Weezer show from a buddy. A freebie! A freebie is a very compelling reason to see a band you once enjoyed when you were 18.

However, my faith was restored in Weezer. How can you not love hearing El Scorcho live?

If you have a spare free ticket to the next Weezer Cruise, then I’m in!

I’ll just have to start sausage sizzling my way from Melbourne, Australia to Florida! That’s a lot of sausage.

About noisynoodle

I am a noisy noodle hailing from Melbourne, Australia who loves listening to noise in all forms, but preferably in music, TV and film. I’ve moonlighted on community radio at SYN-FM many years ago when I was still a “youth”. My mission is to promote live music (get off your bum and see something!), highlight interesting TV shows that are ignored by the ratings, expose some cool films and to not go deaf trying!
