Video: Bat For Lashes All Your Gold Live (Studio A, WFUV, 1 July 2013)

2013 gig highlight #7: Bat for Lashes goosebump inducing performance of Laura from The Haunted Man. Natasha Khan was note perfect for the entire show, but when she belted out her latest single Laura everyone in the room literally stopped and watched in awe. You could hear a pin drop.

She performed at the Palais Theatre in St Kilda, Melbourne on the 5 February 2013 and for a 2,800+ seated venue I could hear people gulp 10 rows behind me. Either that, or I gulped and it echoed to the back of the room.

Hands down, Natasha Khan is the best live vocalist I have ever seen. And I don’t state that lightly. I’ve seen some fantastic bloody artists over the years that I regard highly but Natasha knocked it out of the park that very night.

The best aspect was that she was totally relaxed and seemed to have enjoyed her own show just as much as we did.

My favourite gig of 2013.

About noisynoodle

I am a noisy noodle hailing from Melbourne, Australia who loves listening to noise in all forms, but preferably in music, TV and film. I’ve moonlighted on community radio at SYN-FM many years ago when I was still a “youth”. My mission is to promote live music (get off your bum and see something!), highlight interesting TV shows that are ignored by the ratings, expose some cool films and to not go deaf trying!
