Video: Clutch Earth Rocker Live @ Machine Shop, Belleville, New Jersey (17 October 2012)

Stoner rockers Clutch released their 10th album Earth Rocker in 2013. Damn that album sounds impressive live. Clutch are always going to give you a great set and put in some proper showmanship when you see them live, but Earth Rocker gives them a few extra home runs.

Vocalist Neil Fallon has one of the most distinctive voices in rock and I always love hearing his ballsy, bluesy, soulful voice live. Apparently, it’s the tea that makes it sound so goddamn amazing!

At the Soundwave Festival in Melbourne yesterday (28 February 2014) Fallon and the boys were in fine form and grooved out on stage as you know they would. The Clutch tour bus will be coming to a town near you this year if you live in the UK, Ireland, or Europe (See Clutch 2014 Tour Dates for full info).

Last time I saw Clutch play at Soundwave my brain melted. Granted they were great but they didn’t cause the dramatic over-reaction. I could barely nod my head let alone boogie as it was easily 45 degrees inside the hot shed they were forced to play in (at least it was shady).

You’ll be pleased to know yesterday’s show elicited a lot of dancing.

About noisynoodle

I am a noisy noodle hailing from Melbourne, Australia who loves listening to noise in all forms, but preferably in music, TV and film. I’ve moonlighted on community radio at SYN-FM many years ago when I was still a “youth”. My mission is to promote live music (get off your bum and see something!), highlight interesting TV shows that are ignored by the ratings, expose some cool films and to not go deaf trying!
