Noisy Noodle avatarI am a noisy noodle hailing from Melbourne, Australia who loves listening to noise in all forms, but preferably in music, TV and film.

I’ve moonlighted on community radio at SYN-FM many years ago when I was still a “youth”.

My mission is to promote live music (get off your bum and see something!), highlight interesting TV shows that are ignored by the ratings, expose some cool films and to not go deaf trying!

I have spent 22 years going to amazing live gigs and comedy shows… which explains why I’m always broke, but damn have I seen some awesome shows!*

I have been hooked on TV since I was 3 years old when I used to watch the Mike Walsh Show on daytime TV while eating Weetbix biscuits. Remember those?^

I love a good film that stirs the mind, or a documentary that teaches me something.

Likewise mate! Looking forward to checking out some of the cool films you’ve reviewed. Plus our blogs are about the same age, so they can celebrate birthdays together!

      • Likewise dude , huge fan of Australian cinema also
        Lords of dog town
        Chopper
        Animal kingdom
        Wish you were here
        Snowtown
        Candy
        Wolf creek
        Storm warning
        The loved ones
        All awesome

      • noisynoodle says:

Awesome – you’ve definitely named some of our best films! I don’t think we can claim Lords of Dog Town though, it does have Heath Ledger in it, but that’s the film from the perspective of Stacy Peralta – so I think it was US produced.

      • Aye yeah true , it stank of yank actually hahah had the dude from elephant in it . Was a good show all the same and I wouldn’t be a big fan of sporty films
What about black water and rouge ? Prob the best killer croc moves around .

      • noisynoodle says:

Rogue didn’t last long at the box office, and Black Water was out around the same time so it kinda looked like a rip-off. I never saw either but I’m a fan of Undead so I’ll probably enjoy them for being schlocky!

      • Rouge was surprisingly good flick and black water was really tense
It was sort of like open water but with a croc both great fans underrated films. Looking forward to wrmwood and wolf creek 2

      • noisynoodle says:

Yeah, I expect Wolf Creek 2 will be pretty huge. John Jarratt was amazing, such a transformation from when he used to host a home renovation show on TV!

      • Hahahahahahahahaha no fucking way man !! He a damn good killer. This film has quite a huge budget so I’m just hoping they make it even sicker. You Aussies can make a damn good fucking horror.

      • What about this one called wrmwood? Looks interesting

      • Man completely forgot about acolytes
        Great oz film;)

      • noisynoodle says:

I hadn’t heard of Acolytes. Wyrmwood could be interesting – Mad Max v zombies, but we’ll have to wait and see!

      • Yo, another great Australian film ” in her skin” watched it the other night just wrote a post about it which ill post later . Fantastic lead performance by the leading actress “Ruth Bradley” Turns out my girlfriend knew her a grew up with her in Dublin. Sad story, with a bonus of the almighty John butler as a soundtrack and a cameo by the man himself .

      • noisynoodle says:

Cool, I’ll hunt down your post!

      • Undead was priceless !

  2. Thanks for the follow! You’re taste in music seems to have some similarities to mine. I look forward to hearing about some live shows not to miss in the future! 🙂

  3. It seems we have similar tastes in movies as well, although I only post about music. I posted on the Amelie movie soundtrack a while back (http://songsuneedtohear.wordpress.com/2013/10/29/movie-soundtracks-the-music-of-yann-tiersen/)

I was happy to see Spinal Tap on your list! That thing is truly laugh-out-loud funny. Like The Big Lebowski.

    • noisynoodle says:

Awesome, we must be on the same wavelength 😉

I love a good mockumentary and the Spinal Tap crew know how to do it perfectly. The Big Lebowski is also a favourite of mine. I bought it twice on DVD as I forgot I had the first copy! There was a whole year were me and my friends started drinking White Russians because of the film.
